Are you a vibrant and organised restaurant manager? then we want you. We are looking for someone with great people skills who can crack a joke, make people feel welcome and can manage a busy inner city restaurant and bar. This establishment is an institution among locals and its important that you know how to maintain relationships with those returning customers and to help make sure those new to this place tell ALL their friends.
In this role you will need to have proven experience managing staff and ensuring that the front of house runs smoothly. You will need to have clear communication skills which you show us when we interview you. We want someone who also has experience managing staff and customer complaints. We want someone with an engaging personality, someone who knows how to work a room and make people’s dining experiences seem seamless. We want someone who can see what needs to be done and manage this in an appropriate way not running around like headless chickens!
We want someone who is a professional through and through and can manage ordering of stock for the front of house. You will need to be able to show us the type of leader you are – we want someone who can share their experience and help train the newer staff and lead by example. You will need to be able to tell us how you can bring a team together and create a great working atmosphere. There is an already well established team so humour and respect are very important. People work hard and want to enjoy coming to work.
THE NITTY GRITTY:
This is a permanent full time position, based in Dunedin. You will need to be available to work evenings and weekends. It is vital you have your Duty Managers Certificate and have at least 2 years experience in similar roles. We would be willing to consider a candidate who wants to take the next step in their career as long as they have the personality traits we are looking for. Pay rate is $20 per hour.
