Head Chef – Napier

Lone Star in Napier is on the hunt for a seasoned head chef. Located in the heart of the city this establishment is one of the busiest and most successful Lone Star in the country.

In this role, you will have full control of the busy kitchen with a team of 5 staff working under you. You will be responsible for the busy a la carte restaurant which is open for dinner as well as the busy functions and events which the business provides. A la carte volumes can exceed 250 + on a busy night.

You will be responsible for ordering rostering and operational management of the kitchen including food and labor costs. Attention to detail and ensuring your team is happy and productive is a vital part of this role.

Typically you will start work around 11am and finish around 8.30pm with 2 days off in a row. Flexibility with these hours and days is on offer.

Ideally, you would have had experience with high volume a la carte dining and have experience with line cooking as well as all stations within a kitchen. This role may also suit an up-and-coming Sous who wants to take the next step.

Chef de Partie – Lone Star Napier

Lone Star Napier located in the heart of the CBD and close to the beaches, is looking for a chef de partie. This is a full-time and permanent position.

With a restaurant seating up to 120 guests in an a la carte capacity, as well as a busy function centre, this role will have you working with a team of 5 chefs to work the line and support the head chef. You will switch between pans, grill and working the pass. Experience with high volume a la carte is a must.

You will be clean tidy and well-organized. Experience with working under pressure is a must.

You will have come from a a la carte background with experience in high volume. You might be a junior chef who wants to take the next step and I also encourage you to apply.

On offer is being part of NZ biggest hospitality group. Good pay and guaranteed hours along with a professional team and well-appointed kitchen. Shift times will start in the afternoon and go through to close. No splits and always 2 days off in a row.
